 O'NEILL TEAM RIDER SEB TOUTANT TAKES IT ALL AT THE BILLABONG BIG AIR EVENT IN NEW ZEALANDCanadian snowboarder and O'Neill Team Rider Sebastien Toutant has claimed both the Open Men’s and Junior Men’s divisions of the Swatch TTR 3-Star Billabong Big Air event at Snow Park in Wanaka, New Zealand.
2007 Swatch TTR Champion and current World No. 1 Jamie Anderson (USA) also joined Toutant on the winners list after dominating the Open Women’s division to retain her number one spot on the current tour ratings.
After early qualifying rounds were postponed on day one of the Billabong Snow Stock festival, light winds and intermittent cloud set the scene for the second day, allowing organizers to complete the Billabong Big Air and the Nixon Quarter Pipe Throw Down.
Toutant lead from his first run in the 24 man final of the blue ribbon Big Air event, before blowing the crowd away on his second attempt at the Big Air kicker with a perfectly stomped late corked backside 1080. The trick was one of the only 1080’s nailed during the whole event and rewarded the 15-year-old with a score of 26.50 out of 30.00.

 DEBUTING AT THE 2008 SEISMIC NATIONAL SKATEBOARD CHAMPIONSHIPS
MORRO BAY, CA. July 9, 2008. Kahuna Creations is thrilled to announce the first ever race featuring its new land paddle, the Kahuna Big Stick. The event will be held July 11-13 at Morro Bay, California.
Athletes will meet at the beautiful Cloisters Park. The race will take the competitors through some of the most picturesque and rugged landscapes while enabling the athletes to experience stand up paddling on land.
"I'm stoked that the Kahuna Creations "Big Ride" land paddling race is part of the 2008 National Skateboard Championships. Skateboarders are always up for trying something new, and I think the "Big Ride" is just that, and the $500 purse makes it even more exciting." says Jack Smith - Race Director and former Guinness Book of World Record holder for long distance skateboarding.
“This is a chance for the athletes to have fun as well as make history. Board riding is all about fun, being with friends and trying new things” says Steve McBride, Founder of Kahuna Creations, “the Big Ride competition at Morro Bay is a great way to kick off this new element of board riding.”

 L’édition 2008 du ALTERNATIVE SNOWMISSION, présentée par Desjardins, s’est terminée cet après-midi au Parc du Mont-Comi après un week-end complètement haut en couleurs
Tout au cours de la journée de samedi, plus de 300 prêts d’équipement ont été effectués par les compagnies sur place lors du démo sur neige des produits 2009. Ces produits seront en vente l’an prochain en boutique.
Le parcours de cette année, du jamais vu, a donné lieu à une compétition hors du commun. Présenté dans une formule plus urbaine avec rampes métalliques et escaliers, l’événement a attiré plus de 5000 personnes au Parc du Mont Comi.

 After 10 years of designing accessories and garments for various brands, Rekognize design has finally launched their own premium lifestyle brand.
Bruxe is owned an operated by Oli and Mer Van Roost, 2 Belgian born twins now living in Montreal Canada.
Oli has been designing backpacks, accessories, and apparel as well as branding and advertising campaigns for major snowboard, streetwear and other youth driven companies for over 10 years. Mer has been working as marketing manager and brand manager for various snowboard and skateboard companies for over 8 years.
The pair also have extensive sales experience, having sold top brands to US and Canadian retailers as well as international distributors. |
